High-density embedded memory IP and advanced analog/mixed-signal IP for SoCs.
 
MoSys provides advanced embedded memory and analog/mixed-signal IP that substantially improves the functionality, price and performance trade-offs of systems on chips (SoCs). MoSys IP addresses two of the biggest challenges in SoC design: embedding larger amounts of memory to serve today's data-hungry applications and consolidating analog/mixed-signal functions that are notoriously difficult to design and integrate. MoSys delivers these application-critical components in the form of production-ready IP which can easily be dropped into any SoC design.

MoSys IP offers a range of solutions tuned to the needs of fabless semiconductor companies and integrated device manufacturers (IDMs). MoSys products include:
  • 1T-SRAM® Memory: an industry-leading, patented memory technology providing an unprecedented combination of density, performance, low power consumption and economy. 1T-SRAM combines the high capacity of embedded DRAM (eDRAM) with the speed, low power and ease of manufacture of traditional (6T) SRAM. 1T-SRAM has been used successfully in over 130 million devices powering dozens of market-leading electronic products. In addition to Single-Port 1T-SRAM architectures for general applications, MoSys offers Dual-Port 1T-SRAM designed for display drivers in advanced smart phones and other mobile devices. MoSys Dual-Port 1T-SRAM is the first solution to support the large frame buffers needed by high-resolution (QVGA and above) displays, while meeting the space and power requirements of mobile devices. 
  • 1T-FLASH™ Memory: a new high-density embedded flash memory technology implemented in a standard CMOS process. MoSys's patented 1T-FLASH significantly improves the cost/performance/power trade-offs of embedding flash memory on SoCs. Unlike other high-density flash alternatives, 1T-FLASH is implemented in a pure logic CMOS process, offering better economies and easier scalability to smaller process nodes. 1T-FLASH also provides better performance than other high-density flash alternatives at equivalent geometries. 
  • Analog/Mixed-Signal IP: MoSys is among the first to offer many key analog/mixed-signal functions as standard, production-ready IP, ready to drop into SoC designs. MoSys analog/mixed-signal IP allows a variety of critical functions, previously difficult or impossible to integrate, to be seamlessly designed into an SoC. MoSys's expanding portfolio of analog/mixed-signal IP offerings includes:
  • The first DVD front end IP to support both the Blu-ray (BD) and HD DVD formats
  • High-performance Gigabit Ethernet Physical Layer (PHY) unit, the first in a family of MoSys GbE IP for SoCs

  • For fabless semiconductor companies, MoSys provides a complete selection of configurable macros such as 1T-SRAM CLASSIC macros, ready to drop into SoC designs and available for manufacture by leading foundries. MoSys also offers technology licensing and can work directly with fabless semiconductor customers to customize MoSys IP to their specific application needs.
  • For IDMs, MoSys provides technology licensing and customization services, enabling IDMs to tailor MoSys IP to their application needs and in-house processes.
